"Love God, Love Your Neighbor,
        Love Your Neighborhood..."

FAITH STATEMENT

"Love God, Love Your Neighbor, Love Your Neighborhood..."

Doctrinal Statement

  • We believe the Scriptures in their original writings to be the inspired Word of God, without error, infallible, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind and the final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13).

  • We believe there is only one living and true God, eternally existing in three distinct persons - Father Son and Holy Spirit. Each person is unique and distinct yet they are all the same God (Matthew 28:18-19; John 1:1; Mark 12:29).

  • We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, one in essence with the Father, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man who took on human flesh, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, buried and was raised to life on the third day securing salvation for all who will believe in Him. He ascended into heaven and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and will rule over all. He is the Head of His body - the Church (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-2; Romans 3:25-26; Philippians 3:20-21; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 John 2:1).

  • We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and who is to be worshipped and glorified. He is the agent of the new birth; he indwells every believer, seals, empowers, baptizes, gives gifts and sanctifies (Acts 5:3-4; John 3:6; 14:16-17; 16:7-15; Ephesians 2:22; 4:30; 5:18).

  • We believe in Satan who is at enmity with God and His church. He is the accuser of the brethren, the deceiver, destined to the judgment of eternal torment in the Lake of Fire. We believe in angels who are servants of God and do His bidding, and demons - fallen angels who do Satan's bidding (Genesis 3:1-19; Matthew 12:24; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 20:1-3).

  • We believe man was created in the image of God and by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless state rendering both he and his progeny separated from God and in need of redemption (Genesis 1:26; Romans 3:10-19).

  • We believe in the voluntary, substitutionary and propitiatory sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on behalf of sinners. His sacrifice is sufficient and complete to bring any to salvation. No additional sacrifice for sin remains (Romans 5:6-9; Galatians. 3:13; Ephesians 1:7; Acts 4:12).

  • We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ on behalf of the sinner. In order to enter into eternal life one must put their trust solely in the finished work of Christ on the cross, not trusting in attainments of character, morality, church ordinances, efforts at repentance, membership in any church, or other good works to gain any merit before God or progress towards heaven (John 3:16, 18; Romans 1:16-17).

  • We believe that because of the divine nature of the gift of eternal life, the intercession of Christ in heaven, the regenerating and abiding presence of the Holy Spirit, and the eternal purpose of God for believers, that once a person places his faith in Christ for salvation they are saved forever (John 5:24; 10:28; 1 John 5:11-13; Jude 24).

  • We believe the Church of Jesus Christ is made up of the universal church and the local church. The universal church is composed of all those on earth who truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. The local church is a local gathering of believers in the name of Christ to worship, observe the ordinances, study God's word and to gather for fellowship and prayer. Its supreme mission is to make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 16:16-18; 1 Corinthians 12-14).

  • We believe spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to all believers who are required to exercise their gifts for the building up of the church. We believe some gifts were given for the founding of the church and are therefore not being given today (Acts 2:4-11; 10:44-46; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 12:11-12).

  • We believe civil governments are of divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society. Magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 13:1-6).

  • We believe God's future plans for humanity and the church consists of a pre-tribulation rapture followed by a seven year tribulation period which culminates in the coming of Jesus Christ to the earth with his saints (pre-millennialism) to usher in a literal 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth. At the end of this 1,000 years there will be the Great White Throne judgment for unbelievers followed by the creation of the New Heavens and the New Earth upon which God's people of all ages will dwell forever with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 6-19; 20:1-3).
